![]() Its unpredictable, so there's not much you can do aside from not letting it bother you. We had a lot of sargaussum and the beach maintenance team was doing their damndest to clean it up as it washed ashore, but its still in the water. I also saw a volleyball net and corn hole. There are also non-motorized water sports that the guests loved (we did not use, I told you we wanted to be lazy). There is a palapa building with a place to get a massage if you want. Beach: The sand is white, there is a lot of seating, but not many palapas. I really liked that they provided large sized lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, a shaving kit, toothbrush, toothpaste they really don't hold back on their level of service. There was also a steamer and an iron and ironing board in the bureau. There's a small refrigerator which remains stocked if you get room service. Yes, I pulled it all back to look - still very freaked out about bed bugs. Most people don't go there to watch tv, though! The beds were firm with a nice pillow top, had a duvet cover and insert, flat sheet, sheet covering the bed, a protective cover, then the pillow top. Note that the tv stations are limited, I think there were maybe 15 in total. Since my spouse and I were so exhausted, we were delighted with how great the rooms looked and felt - we slept and relaxed a lot. The photos you see on the amrcollection site are exactly how the rooms look. ![]() ![]() We could see the ocean and the skyline, but no sand (not disappointed, though). We had a room with an ocean view on the third floor of our building. Property: Secrets Maroma is a beautiful property with incredible shared amenities along with very well apportioned rooms. Also, it was our five year wedding anniversary - wanted to make it a good one. We like exploring cities and being like locals, but with our family situation and work we needed to take a vacation that required no thinking and a lot of relaxing. We cannot recommend this resort enough! It was everything we were hoping for.Ĭontext: Had a baby three years ago, haven't been on a vacation with my spouse in basically three and a half years. We were able to take advantage of tons of activities, our favorites being a poolside concert with Martha & Coco and the silent discount. We had the best massages of our lives at the spa with Mirian and Lili. ![]() Every single restaurant offered a variety of delicious food and we never had a wait of more than 2-3 minutes to get a table even without reservations. We stayed in a Junior Swim Out Suite and could not have been more pleased with the gorgeous room and incredible salt water pool. He made sure to check in with us regularly and happily scheduled any appointments and reservations that we requested. Roberto was our Preferred Club Concierge and he was wonderful. They also paid careful attention to remember our anniversary throughout the visit. Every member of the resort staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the service was absolutely exceptional. We recently celebrated our ten year anniversary at Secrets Maroma Beach. I was beautifully reminded how to relax again. The spa experience was phenomenal and definitely a must try especially you’re just like me - constantly overworked/ overstressed. Do not forget to bring lots of sunscreen and insect repellants, my legs got feasted on unfortunately. We enjoyed wading through the waves, it wasn’t too rough but there were some seaweeds (but its usually clearer in the early mornings). And if you enjoy walking barefoot on the beach, this is definitely the resort to visit! The sand was wonderfully powdery under our feet. Our favorite server was Francisco, he made sure we were comfortable even as we waited. The food was excellent everywhere!!! I am already missing all the delicious ceviches! However, there could be a wait getting into the restaurants and getting served food (expect dinner to take 1-1.5 hrs). Memo, Manciel and Jenyfer made our stay a lot more fun and informative with tequila tasting, bike rides and spanish lessons. We loved how Efraim was so responsive to our drink/ snack restocking requests. Eli, our building concierge took excellent care of us. The beds were just a little too firm/ hard for my liking. The aesthetics of the rooms and everywhere else was superb and tastefully designed. The resort was beautiful and the size is just right (comfortable to walk to the beach and the main building where most of the restaurants are).
